Knoxville, Tennessee, is home to many of the top developers in the tech world, and today, the city is looking to capitalize on the excitement surrounding the launch of its new $500 million $1,000 million apartment complex at Lakewood.
The complex will be home to an estimated 200 apartments and offices, according to a press release from the City of Knoxville.
The complex will house some of the largest and most ambitious tech companies in the country, and will also feature some of Knoxvillians first homes in the area.
In addition to Lakewood’s large tech community, the complex will feature restaurants, retail, and retail-related spaces, as well as a rooftop garden.
The new property also features a “new-build amenity, including a community center, outdoor play area, fitness center, and a rooftop deck” for the residents to enjoy the beautiful view of the lake.
The project will bring up to 5,500 people to the complex, which will be completed in 2019.
The apartments, which can accommodate up to 250 people, are currently available for lease in the complex’s building at 1128 Lakewood Ave., according to the release.
Lakewood has also announced plans to expand its existing parking lots into an office park, and is currently working on a new hotel that will be built on a former industrial site that sits at the center of Lakewood and Knoxvillia.
The hotel will feature a hotel ballroom and lounge, and has also been developed as a “unique event space.”
The development will include a restaurant, retail and office space, as also a rooftop park.
Lakewoods new apartment complex is located at the northwest corner of Lakewoods downtown, at the corner of Interstate 40 and U.S. 51, according the release from Lakewood Properties.
The project is estimated to cost $1.6 million.
